Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities will be to support the implementation of specific business development projects, including bid submissions, presentations, reports, and case studies. This will involve the use of InDesign, PowerPoint and a suite of tools and libraries to support these documents.

The candidate should be keen to broaden knowledge of construction including structural steelwork, engineered timber and the associated design and buildability. Experience in either structural steelwork or mass timber being advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.

Key Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in an admin or customer service role
  • Willingness to develop and learn alongside the company, taking on-board information and being able to utilise this when working on business development opportunities.
  • Ability to manage tasks, workflow, and pre-plan activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team, liaising with different departments to obtain information.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to speak confidently when communicating with external contacts and clients.
  • High degree of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to conduct comprehensive research.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy at all times
  • Good understanding and ability to operate Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Good punctuality, pro-active approach, and good presentation skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support with the implementation of specific business development projects, including bid submissions, presentations, reports, and case studies.
  • Support the Estimating team on formal bid opportunities including maintaining a library of precedent text and images for bid submissions.
  • Support with the tracking and reporting of bid activity.
  • Assist with obtaining bid feedback, to help identify themes and inform future pricing.
  • Support external client meetings including drafting supporting documents and presentations, preparing client research and collating data.
  • To an agreed format, help produce a monthly sales report.
  • Use lead-generation software to assess potential new opportunities and compile reports for bi-weekly review with Sales & Estimating department.
  • Supporting the delivery and promotion of webinars and face-to-face events.
  • Ensure the CRM system is up to date and running regular reports.
  • Use social media and online networking to identify leads for enquiries, content, and events.
