SIP’s
SIPs are Structural Insulated Panels and are constructed of a sandwich of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) witheither a polyurephane or EPS filling. The installation and the OSB board are bonded together in factory to form a strong, stiff, thermally efficient structural panel.
SIPs panels can be used in all types of sustainable construction including offices, residential, leisure, healthcare and educational structures.
The details have been developed to achieve a high specification for air tightness and thermal performance, offering U values as low as 0.1 W/m2K.
SIPs panels are manufactured in various thicknesses ranging from 100 to 300mm depending on the floor spans and loading requirements. They are typically produced in widths of up to 1.2m and 6m in length
Alternative finishes can be applied to the sips panels to suit individual project needs and panels can offer up to 60 minute fire rating if a double layer of plaster board is applied to internal face.
