Title: Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Coordinator
Reporting to: Operations Manager / Contracts Manager
We are looking for a Project Coordinator (or Assistant Project Coordinator depending on experience) to provide support to the Contracts Manager and coordinate the flow of information between BKHS and the professional team at our office in Derby. You will ideally have a minimum of two to five years’ experience in construction (preferably with knowledge of structural steel/timber), an understanding of contracts and financial awareness, and knowledge of statutory and company procedures. The right candidate will have excellent planning and presentation skills, and a willingness to learn and develop.

- Good punctuality, pro-active approach, and good presentation skills.
- Ambition to progress their career to understand new methods of construction within the supply chain of B&K Hybrid Solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To work within contract timelines to ensure that the planning and phasing of projects are effectively communicated to all parties and completed within the allotted budgets. Ensure contracts are formed and issued to the relevant parties following project launch meetings.
- To review the design philosophy and temporary stability requirements of any structures alongside the Design Engineer and the Technical Department. Communicate any concerns and implement any necessary risk planning.
- To prepare and communicate the project specification in line with the project programme to produce general arrangements and drawing office requirements. Ensure information is communicated to all internal and external parties associated with project.
- Manage the receipt and issue of drawings to the relevant parties, ensuring all current legislation is adhered to and the documentation is issued on time. Assist with the appointment of the drawing office and issue the subcontract documentation to the project Quantity Surveyor.
- Assist in the appointment of project specific erectors and material suppliers, conducting the pre-start meetings as and when necessary. Work within the allotted budgets to review the competency of each tenderer and assist in the preparation of the order package, ensuring Health and Safety standards can be met. Complete the relevant supplier forms and supporting documentation to be issued to the Quantity Surveyor.
- In conjunction with the Contracts Manager, prepare project specific inspection and test plans. Complete the Plan of Works and ensure the programme and methodology is within the timeline and estimated budgets.
- Produce site packs and complete the site pack checklist, issuing erection and sitework packages to the site teams. Monitor and update the project delivery schedule and ensure Quality and Health and Safety Standards are met.
- Asses any proposed variations through consultation with internal departments in terms of scope, current works status, lead times, programme implications, and required resources. Ensure information is communicated to all internal and external parties associated with the project, all legislation is adhered to, and documentation is issued on time.
- Collate information from all relevant parties and issue documentation to clients, including customer satisfaction questionnaires. Arrange project closure meetings using feedback gained from the project closure feedback forms.
- Any other duties associated with this position, which are related to the objectives of the Company/Department or contribute to individual development.
