About the Role
We are looking for Civil or Structural Engineering MEng Undergraduate students, in their second or third year of study, to join our in-house team for a summer placement in 2026. We are highly interested in candidates who have a passion for the built environment and can demonstrate both talent and commitment to the field. Applicants should possess sound technical skills, be passionate about their work, and demonstrate creative thinking.
At B&K Hybrid Solutions, as the UK’s leading sustainable frame contractor, we are uniquely placed to provide you with exposure to Structural Engineering of steel and mass timber structures, from detailed design through to in-house fabrication at our manufacturing facility and installation on site. You will be given the opportunity to develop your technical skills and benefit from working alongside our engineers to deliver design for live projects.
Day to day activities throughout the placement will include computational analysis, structural calculation, production of drawings and reports. Where possible, we will also arrange attendance in workshops and design meetings, and you will have the opportunity to visit our fabrication facility and live construction sites. You will be closely mentored by one of our skilled engineers and will receive on-the-job-training and regular constructive feedback through the placement, to allow you to grow and flourish.
