On Friday 28th September we joined thousands of other keen bakers by taking part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Co-ordinated by our marketing and bid co-ordinator Grace Lomas, our coffee morning raised over £200 for the cancer care charity. There was a fantastic response from the team, with 25 bakers rising to the challenge on the day and plenty more making a donation in exchange for some delicious treats.

Our 3D bid co-ordinator Thea Konstantis was crowned as the ‘Star Baker’ with her famous chocolate orange cake, which set her apart from the rest of the batch.

Grace Lomas said: “We’re very proud to have raised over £200 for Macmillan; it’s a really worthwhile cause and the Coffee Morning had a very enthusiastic response from everyone at B&K Structures – we have a lot of cake-lovers here! We can’t wait to go even bigger and better next year.”

Cancer care charity Macmillan has been running the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning since 1990, and contributors have raised over £1.9 million to date. Macmillan Cancer Support offers help and advice to those affected by cancer across the UK.
