CLT Pioneers Invest in new fire research and compliance framework
Existing buildings and new construction account for nearly 40% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions according to a World Green Building Council report published in September 2019. As a robust, fast, clean, sustainable and renewable method of construction, cross laminated timber (CLT) is now widely acknowledged as having a vital role to play in reducing CO
emissions to mitigate the climate change crisis.
Supporting Emerging Talent
Universities are facing challenging times and we firmly believe that greater collaboration is needed with education providers to explore ways to engage directly with students.
Some time ago B&K Structures formed a partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU). From the original guest lectures, we have progressed this relationship and although we can no longer go into the University, digital technology has allowed us to continue this support.
Building Restrictions and Unintended Consequences
The engineered timber industry has been founded on the principles of advancing sustainable building technology. Led by innovators such as B&K Structures, the use of timber technology in UK construction has undergone a renaissance in recent years which has greatly increased the use of ground-breaking products such as cross laminated timber (CLT).
