That’s why we were delighted when our receptionist, Georgina Hitchcock, took us up on our offer of a new role as a trainee 3D CAD technician.

Our managing director, Andy Goodwin, spoke with Georgina about the opportunities to progress with the company after being impressed with her work ethic and commitment to B&K Structures after just a few months in her job. Having enjoyed gaining an insight into the industry through her receptionist work, Georgina decided to pursue the role of 3D CAD technician due to the design and creativity elements of the job.

As a trainee 3D CAD technician, Georgina will create 3D designs for timber and steel structures so that engineers and technicians can understand their construction, developing a detailed visual representation of a project. Georgina will work as part of the estimating department as a member of BID manager Lee Roberts’ team.

Commenting on her new role, Georgina said: “I’m definitely looking forward to a position where I can grow professionally and skilfully, which is something that’s really important to me. CAD skills are such an essential part of the business that training in this new role will stand me in good stead for the future.”

We’re sure everyone will join us in wishing Georgina – and her replacement on reception, Fern Reynolds – all the best for what we’re sure is a bright future.
