HEX Wildlife Hotel sits at the heart of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, as part of the client’s huge expansion - aimed to improve visitor experience and take their conservation work to the next level. The premium hotel facility features a hybrid timber and steelwork structure delivered by B&K Hybrid Solutions. BKHS were integral to the design and build of the project’s superstructure, providing innovative member design for the CLT and steel, and installation of the main steel frame, CLT decks and SFS.

The structural solution – complete with a non-combustible outer board – is a fantastic example of B&K Hybrid Solutions’ expertise within the timber and hybrid construction market, and the incorporation of CLT means Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s new build hotel is both aesthetically pleasing for the park’s guests and sustainable for future generations.

Now open to the public, the hotel offers a unique accommodation experience within the park itself and is the final piece of the park’s trilogy of accommodation options,
including glamping and camping. The hotel features suites and family rooms, offering views of some of the animal enclosures, and ensuring a cohesive and immersive experience for guests.

HEX Wildlife Hotel is part of the Wildlife Park’s massive expansion plans, which aims to bring £50m investment to the area and over 300 extra jobs. Securing over 150 acres of additional land for the development, the new hotel supports Yorkshire Wildlife Park in becoming one of the leading tourism destinations in the UK.
