A brand new timber DTE building, on the grounds of the historic Stowe House

A trailblazing new education project in the heart of Buckinghamshire.

Stowe School is an innovative development in Buckinghamshire, where B&K Hybrid Solutions delivered the CLT and Glulam engineered timber, on behalf of Beard.

BKHS works included erecting the cross laminated timber floor and roof panels, glulam beams and columns and ground floor steelwork grillage for the Design, Technology & Engineering (DTE) building.

Exposed timber was specified for its low carbon benefits. Utilising glulam and cross laminated timber has enabled material usage to be reduced and has facilitated easy deconstruction if required at end of life.

Now open, the project includes modern teaching spaces, studios and workshops - serving as its own educational resource - to become a new state-of-the-art facility on the school’s campus in the grounds of the historic Stowe House.

"We're delighted to have delivered the innovative Stowe School alongside Beard Construction and the local authority. BKHS have a great wealth of experience in the education sector, and are excited to add another premium, low-carbon building to our repertoire.

The project shows a real commitment to low-carbon building solutions and have enjoyed sharing the journey with the students and faculty at Stowe School"
