BKS were proud to attend the Structural TimbermAwards last month, where we picked up Project of the Year for our work at Dogger Bank O&M Base (Port of Tyne) and Education Project of the year for the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS).

What an incredible result, and we were delighted to celebrate with our project partners HLM Architects, Stora Enso, Engenuiti and Ryder Architecture. Huge congratulations also to the Technique project team - General Projects, Heyne Tillett Steel and Buckley Gray Yeoman - which was Highly Commended.

Lee Roberts, Pre-Construction Director, BKS:

“It was a great honour to be a headline sponsor at the Structural Timber Awards last week, which celebrated a diverse and competitive shortlist and saw so many industry professionals celebrating the success of structural timber buildings. Despite the on-going challenges we face, the structural timber sector continues to deliver some of the most forward-thinking buildings across the UK.

To continue our growth, industry collaboration is ever more important, especially if we are to deliver on the Government Targets of Net Zero. All of us must continue to develop buildings with a low carbon agenda, and we must continue to push the boundaries - we certainly hope to see many more structural timber buildings delivered during 2024.

On behalf of B&K Structures and B&K Hybrid Solutions, I’d like to thank the judges, sponsors and organisers and congratulate all the other winners and finalists”
