B&K Hybrid Solutions are pleased to share these latest site pictures from Port Talbot, where our team are delivering a large-scale structural steelwork unit for Glass Systems on behalf of Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd.

Last month, ground was broken on the 30-acre site, which plans to be operational by Summer 2024. BKHS’ expert team - aided by our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and cutting-edge Peddinghaus machines – were awarded the package to detail, fabricate, and erect circa 800 tonnes of hot and cold rolled structural steelwork.

The glass manufacturing development will include a mezzanine office measuring 1,355 sqm used for processing glass. Glass Systems - which already has six factories across the UK and employs more than 1,000 staff - manufactures around 100,000 insulated glass units a week to the UK window market.

This addition to their facilities will safeguard 500 jobs in the Port Talbot area as well as create 100 more, and the new glass factory development will benefit from Welsh government business support, allowing for investment in machinery, equipment and site expansion.
