B&K Hybrid Solutions are currently on site at Spelthorne Leisure Centre, where we are delivering the hybrid package of CLT, Glulam, and structural steelwork - which has been manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility. We are excited to share the latest photographs from Spelthorne Leisure Centre!

B&K Hybrid Solutions are excited to share these recent photos showcasing our work at Spelthorne Leisure Centre, London’s first and the UK's largest ‘wet and dry’ Passivhaus leisure facility.

Our team are currently on site delivering the hybrid cross laminated timber, glulam, and steel frame, with structural steelwork manufactured from our state-of-the-art facility. BKHS are proud to be working alongside Willmott Dixon, Engenuiti, GT3 Architects, and Stora Enso on this exciting hybrid leisure project.

Spelthorne Leisure Centre, located in Staines-upon-Thames, will offer a comprehensive range of facilities, such as an eight-lane 25m pool, sports hall, studios, and a sports pitch on the roof.

This state-of-the-art leisure facility will be highly energy efficient, as the first and largest ‘wet and dry’ leisure facility in the UK to meet the ultra-low energy ‘Passivhaus’ standard. Spelthorne Borough Council expect the new building to use 60% less energy than a typical modern leisure centre – a major step towards helping the Council achieve its aim of becoming carbon neutral in the coming years.

B&K Hybrid Solutions specialise in the design and delivery of steel and timber hybrid projects; an ideal solution in the Health and Leisure sector, particularly when government funding is to be considered, as hybrid systems can provide both sustainability and commercial benefits.
