B&K Structures have delivered the package on behalf of ISG which included 500 tonnes of structural steelwork and 1,500 m³ cross laminated timber.

The Metropolis (242 Marylebone Road) has now landed its last structural member.

B&K Structures have delivered the package on behalf of ISG which included 500 tonnes of structural steelwork and 1,500 m³ cross laminated timber.

Metropolis will be one of only four refurbishments to ever achieve BREEAM Outstanding in the UK and will be 80% more efficient than the average retrofit, being powered solely by renewables.

Showcasing our expertise in hybrid construction, BKS have delivered the CLT floor decks, roof and upstands and steelwork elements on behalf of ISG, Henderson Park Capital Partners and General Projects alongside Heyne Tillett Steel, Stora Enso and Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.

Our package has involved 500 Tonnes of structural steelwork and 15,000cm3 of Cross Laminated Timber. The project is a refurbishment and extension of pre existing offices.

When completed, the 174,000 sq ft commercial scheme in Marylebone will have been remastered, extending the existing building using sustainably sourced mass timber, to become “the healthiest, most productive working environment the UK has ever seen”.
